GEAR UP FOUNDATION ANSWERS THE CALL ONCE AGAIN. 2 LOCAL RESIDENTS & MEMBERS OF 9/11 CHARITY FOUNDATION HAVE DONATED IN EXCESS OF $500,000.00 IN LIFE-SAVING FIREFIGHTING GEAR TO ECUADOR IN TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001, NEARLY 10 YEARS AGO.

(April 11, 2011, CONNECTICUT) – Born from the ashes after the attacks of September 11th, Gear Up Foundation was formed as a living memorial to all those who perished on 9/11 and those who continue to die from their exposures on site. Gear Up Foundation has delivered millions of dollars in equipment and training around the world in tribute to and as a legacy to those who answered the call to serve. We, through the international brotherhood inspired by firefighters act as Ambassadors of Goodwill bringing our world together because of the tragedy of 9/11.

Gear Up Co-Founder & Ridgefield CT residents Vincent Forras & Frank Lucisano, President & Chief Paul Nelson were joined by representatives in Ecuador including British Ambassador Linda Cross, Vice Mayor Chang and others at an historic ceremony in Guayaquil Ecuador at the Salon de La Ciudad on Friday, April 1st.  All activities were coordinated by local resident and co-founder, Monica Carrera who had a school named in her honor in Patricia Pilar Ec. During our visit 35 of the poorest fire departments across the country received life saving donations.  A youth fire brigade was commissioned to honor the memory of Joey Lucisano, deceased son of Frank Lucisano.

Both US Senators from CT continue to work directly with Gear Up Foundation in support of this as well as future missions. Meetings with the Gear Up team and representatives of the President of Ecuador including a personal tour of the Presidential Palace were made during the visit.

Stay tuned for a major announcement concerning the 10th anniversary memorial plans to donate in excess of 1 million dollars in fire gear to a "Muslim" country to highlight this special land called America and those who believe that the events of 9/11 inspired many to do incredible things around the world in tribute to our loved ones lost.
