(Los Angeles) Thursday, March 6, 2014− Now in their 7th season, Style Fashion Week Los Angeles, the mega-fashion event will present designer and fashion icon Maggie Barry. Maggie Barry will showcase her M8 Urban Collection during a show titled "The New Cycle of Fashion" on the main stage of the L.A. Live Event Deck, featuring Tern Bicycles on Tuesday, March 11th at 8:00 PM. Designer Maggie Barry has developed a new line called M8 Urban. As the go to designer to many a stylist in the entertainment industry, she has helped design and manufacture music celebrity looks for today's biggest stars (Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Lady Antebellum, Ke$ha), television programs, and concert touring. For M8 Urban, Maggie Barry has based this season's looks on an urban lifestyle. There will be active wear inspired pieces that play with fun fabrics and textures. Whether it be leather and cashmere or sequins and tech-net, all pieces will be engineered with the body in motion. Mobile fashion is an apt description - fashion that's convenient and practical yet edgy and trendy with a nod to practicality.
Quilted vests and jackets, along with cashmere and french terry will keep you warm as tech-net and tanks will keep you cool as needed. Style Fashion Week LA is the largest, most influential fashion event of the season. This season of fashion events will be held March 9th-13th on the renowned L.A. LIVE Event Deck. The 5-day, high-energy event will feature two full runways showcasing national and international designers and the most talented emerging designers from all over the world that will be styled by Official Hair Sponsor FHI Heat and Makeup Sponsor STARLOOKS PRO Cosmetics. An expansive brand marketplace will immerse guests in art, fashion, and design and allow them to directly engage with brands and designers throughout the week. Maggie Barry also shares with Charlie Altuna and Paulo Ricardi a new Downtown Los Angeles showroom and production facility called Shoppe. It is a space which will double as her new street level storefront and showroom. Maggie Barry, along with the designers Charlie Altuna and Paulo Ricardi, will offer retail- their designs- directly to the public.
Shoppe will hold a debut opening on March 13th, during Art Walk at 107 East 8th Street (Main & 8th), during the hours of 5pm-10pm. The Shoppe will be full of new, seasonal designs befitting the local scene. Shoppe: Another duo design team of Charlie Altuna and Paulo Ricardi of Shoppe will show functional, fun designs with surprisingly subtle, yet bold conceptual active wear. Surely pieces to become closet favorites at first sight.
Charlie Altuna: can be seen on the reality/competition show FACE OFF. He has been the contestants secret weapon and/or go to guy for the clothing and costuming of many a project for many, many seasons now. He too like Maggie Barry is a seasoned designer in the entertainment/advertising arena of film. Creating fashion magic for television and film.
Paulo Ricardi: is now co-designer of the clothing line called Shoppe with Charlie Altuna. His experience is from all things designer related. He designs interiors and custom furniture and for Vogue/Mexico, produced and designed the International ad campaigns for such design houses as Gucci.
